Gonna have to check that out next time I'm at Wal-Mart. I usually stop at the one in Winslow, Az when I go that way.

In 2015 it happened. Lease ops lost their surcharge, which they relied on to boost revenue while only being paid $.90 to $1.00 per mile. I bet ya'll are really feeling the pinch now, even with fuel being sub $3 a gallon in most areas.
I left JCT for the oilfields... I'm sure you all understand how that turned out a year later. I'd give my kidney for them $1500 weekly checks and you guys paying $3.50+ a gallon again. lol

You can always come back lol

I haven't quite convinced future wife of the earning potential of OTR vs me being gone and I don't want to miss out on the new baby. If I could get home once a week (for just a day) I'd do it. But that's just an unrealistic expectation.

yeah, it would be tough.
I'm forming my exit plan. I dont mind the long drives but looking for a bit more control over where I go and less problems getting home when I want.unloader Thanks this. -
Found this magnet at the Iowa 80 in Walcott.

Things are looking better and better for me. Still getting plenty of miles. I just settled a debt for half of what was owed. That makes me very happy and makes my credit score happy.
Speaking of credit scores; if you have a new truck (i.e a truck JCT expects you to be in for a long time.) They do report that to TransUnion. Only TransUnion. It shows up as Christner TR. They report it and the end of each quarter has on time payments for each of those months. You can also see the remaining balance of the loan. This does help your credit. I am in the process of building mine back up (made some mistakes when I was young and dumb). The past six months just from the truck payments has raised my credit score by 30 points. So while you are leasing the truck and making the "big bucks"you are also helping your credit score.
So, if you apply for a loan or check your score like I do via Credit Karma (100% free and it checks TransUnion and Equifax) don't be surprised about your debt being $140K+. I was at first and was liketil I realized the truck loan from JCT was on there.
Aminal Thanks this. -
That's good to know. If my truck for some reason takes a dump on me I will have the option to lease a truck through jct.
Got a phone call this am from the recruiter. She asked me when I was ready for orientation, I told her the sooner the better. If I'm able to pick my truck up this weekend as I have been told, I'll be there next week sometime. -
Thanks all for the nice welcome backs. Got a little free time here; OK a good bit - my last 8 is so choppy the computer is having a helluva time modeling me. I got a Tyson load that will let me reset and wipe the slate clean and a fresh 70 for planning and get me a 3,200 mile week so I'm-a-takin'-it LOL.
As I looked back I saw some great discussions and genuine issues and concerns for folks new to, or considering JCT. I think one of the things that sets us out and (IMO) above the herd at JCT in this forum is our ability to be frank, candid and open; without being offensive or rude to one another. I think it's that "I AM JCT" thing kinda resonating among us.
I know a LOT of you guys got the "I AM JCT" tee shirt at last year's Driver Appreciation lunch thingy. As well as some other goodies. Goodies are nice, but blah, blah, blah. Lunch was nice but I don't really need another coozie or wrist band or grocery sack or too small back pack with a company logo to make me feel like I am part of some thing special. I need real people, with real personalities, standing next to me in that tent at "Driver Appreciation", at the Shop, at a truck stop (my fellow Ops), in the OPS area where I walked in to just say HI, to my DM while my truck was being PM'd, and in every office cubicle, in every Department; all saying "I AM JCT"; and they do to a Tee. Or they don't stay. One way or the other; they don't STAY. I think that's how John meant it to be and he, and his family, have done well in keeping it that way, even at our size. Drivers, DM's, Shop, or whomever; you either ARE JCT . . . or you're not. It's pretty much just that simple. Look on the back of that tee-shirt and answer honestly. Then you'll know.
The thing I disagree with about the "I am JCT" brain child is he/she should have come up with WE are JCT. I get the "I", cause it's about individual responsibility and accountability. But there is a synergistic (each segment boosts the other so 1+1 is not 2; it's 22) effect in the WE. Maybe it should be WE ARE JCT.
I don't know. Maybe so. Maybe not. My family's motto that circles OUR crest is:
Veritas Et Confotare; [Truth and Courage]
Fortitidine Et Honorem; [Strength and Honor]
Fideleis Saecula: [Faithful Forever]
So far . . . no conflicts with JCT there, what-so-ever.88 Alpha and KeithT1967 Thank this.
