That doesn't account for a 1.5 mpg discrepancy. According to the shop, apus use 2 gallons per 8 hours under load.
Yes ino all this. I was just letting him know there are other options out here that he might not have known about. I didn't know about it 1.5 years ago when i first started jct. But i did alot of research and talking. But ive seen schneider trucks decked out n they wasnt payed off. Mercer will soon start the program back up tho.
You may have seen modified Schneider lease trucks that are not paid off, I cannot say for sure and there is always someone who will brake the rules or ignore their agreement. A lease can be terminated for doing so, it does not seem worth the risk. How do you know the truck(s) you seen were leased truck(s) that were not paid off? They also take on drivers that own their trucks as O/O’s and you can do anything you want to your own truck, even of it is not paid off. There are plenty of threads in the Schneider section of the forum from L/O’s stating that modifications that involve drilling holes or to the engine/ECM are not allowed. You can install items as long as no holes are drilled and they can be removed to return the truck to stock condition. The L/O’s get very cleaver on how to set things like TV’s up without drilling any holes so that they will not be charged to restore the truck to original condition when returning the truck when their lease is up.
Ino they take owner ops that have trucks already. But all those trucks that ive seen are not paid off maybe some but not all. There are things like cb radios that driver's communicate on if they want to know something. But u r right people do break rules and risk their job. But from the driver's ive talked to schneider doesn't really stand behind those rules. But i personally can care less cause i have two goals. Own a truck and make a few dollars. Im not into all that fancy truck stuff. I can't eat that truck at the end of day if you know what i mean by that[/QUOTE]
A little redneck engineering can get ya all kinds of stuff with out screw holes. I have mounted a 32 inch tv with a peace of 3/4 inch ply wedged into the tv spot on my frieght shaker. I also have my microwave above the passenger seat with some creative wood working.
Thanks for the replies, but I was wanting to know if the fixed costs listed on the JCT calculator are accurate.
