I also miss the tk apu's. So nice and quiet, only kicks on when needed. This one sounds like someone jack hammering under my pillow. lol
I dislike how they can come on while the ignition is on. Stopped by a Hana station in Amarillo Texas to grab 60 gallons to top off the tank for Las Vagas. $1.69 a gallon it was. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me later. You get what you pay for. This R model old trailer is killing my mpg even @ 62mph. I hope I can get rid of it soon.
Concerning the Comfort Pro: although it would be nice to get a new 2017 in a couple of months, if they don't have a Tri-Pac, it's a deal breaker. Don't have a need to get out of my 2014, but it would be nice to drive 70 mph and still get 8.5 MPG. As far as an R trailer goes, I've gotten some of my best economy with those. What truly matters is the weight, terrain, and wind. Yes, some of the older trailers are on dire need of an alignment which affects overall economy.
Not sure what kind of deal jct got on the carrier but I hope it was amazing because I hate them. The comfort pros suck and the reefera are so loud and annoying. I miss the tks.
It was a substantial price savings according to my sources. TK is gonna come strong with a deal for both the reefers and APU. Len and Chris had to cancel their lunch right b4 Xmas. Was rescheduled for last week. Don't know the outcome of that yet......but I will find out for sure. I've been pushing for the Tri-Pac ever since the 1st Dynasis came in.
Things I wish JCT would do. If you are in a big city such as LA have you a preplan before you leave your drop. I just drove to Ontario Petro which was about 30 miles from drop and as i pulled into a spot there they send me a preplan for the cold storage in vernon which is right where i was. And why can't LA get some parking in the vernon area. And vernon truck was packed no parking available.
