Running with JCT, Part Deux

Tons of parking at the Wal-Mart in Casa Grande. You cannot park on front of the entrance, but if you turn right from the exit of Wal-Mart and go about 300 yards, you can park there.
Enuf room for a crap load of trucks. You're close enuf to Wal-Mart that you can connect to their Wi-Fi.

 

Stopped at the TA in Eloy for a 34 before delivery to Casa Grande Wal-Mart and found this on the post trip. Tech also found an inner wheel hub leak.

Did get lucky and the cam is still in the hole and was really lucky the brakes on that one axle held itself open instead of locking.

 

Well, according to the tech, the drum, brake shoes,and s-cam are going to be replaced. The drum is glazed and the s-cam made a really deep scratch into the drum. The drum can be repaired, but TA don't have the equipment for that. The brake charmer is going to be evaluated after the new parts are installed to see if the chamber is working like it should.

The cause of the failure is a pin that is suppose to hold everything in place broke. The reason for it breaking is unknown, but could be the brake chamber having to over extend, which means it was in need of brakes way before this happened. Or could have been metal fatigue. And there is no way to see metal fatigue and just fails one day. Also, no way to know with looking at the part through a microscope.

Also, the wheel is seal starting to sling oil out the back. Just enough to be noticeable if you crawl under and look with a flash light at the center of the hub.

 

So....I received a phone call from Linear Logic....The Scan Gauge ppl. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago about the plug not fitting into the 2017 Cascadia.

They are sending me a new Scan Gauge, new cord with new plug and updated software. I'm happy.

As can be seen, its super easy.

In the first section, load info (green): enter a load number if desired (I enter just the last 3 digits). Enter the loaded and empty miles. Change the fsc, if needed, to the latest number. That's it.

Second section, fuel info (yellow): enter the date (if desired) and amount spent on fuel. That's it.

Second section, expenses (first red boxes): Change the fixed costs to whatever yours are (Qualcomm, insurances etc) and adjust the lease rate and maintenance to your numbers (select the $ amount boxes to change, not the description). Mine are in at .18 and .12. Enter the number of times you bought fuel. Done.

Second section, add-ons (red and green boxes): enter any charges in the red (like cash advances), credits in green (like bonus money) and number of added stops. Add a name in the white box if desired.

Third section, DEF (yellow): enter a date, if desired, and the amount. All done.

It takes less than a minute to enter it all so its quick and easy. It will only show the upcoming check amount, it won't do anything else!

My wife is always asking, "what's your next check going to be?", not "I miss you" or "are you coming home this weekend?" so I made this sharable with her so she can access it at any time. Funny, she never calls anymore....wonder what that means?.

PS. Oh yeah, its two of the same thing so the following pay can be started while the current is in limbo land. Enter dates in the header so you don't mix them up!

Pps. It automatically figures either $0.93 or $0.90 based on the miles.

 

Parts finally got here about 10min ago. They estimate another two hours to put all back together.

When I went to check, they were writing a driver for a headlight replacement. When the tech told me he was about jump on my trailer repair, the driver with the headlight repair got mad and tried to argue his way to the front of the work orders. In the end, he agreed to the the three hour wait instead of just putting it in himself.
