My 70 mile high paying short load out of Stockton CA cancelled. That sucked sense the cheaper load I took from Phoenix to get to it was the reason I went there.. Oh the joys! Ok so pulled up my big boy pants and picked a couple of more .. nice paying load to St George UT and another to Cali.. Guess what! Yep load to Cali Cancelled! COME ON MAN! This getting ridiculous! 3 cancelled loads in a week is unusual to me.. Oh well.. Trying it again! Booked a load out of Vegas to WA then a Shorty to Oregon.. Then I'm heading out of the West on nice paying load to North Dakota .. Multi-stop Furniture load .. Will see if this group of loads stick!

    Riding on!

Good grief! Well ..I 15 from Vegas to St. George is wash out! Gone i tell you! Was trying to get around using 93 to 168 .. (No signs telling us where to go) Only to come to another road block.. State trooper asked me where are you going? "St George UT" i said. "not this way your not" He was real nice about it and explain all the problems it's creating ..At least 3 miles of the interstate doesn't exist anymore. He went on to say your gonna have go back the way you came and continue up 93 and then take 315 back down to I-15. Geesh! that's 200 miles out of route.

There's no way I can now get back to Vegas in time to run the three loads I just recently picked.. Told support shaft about it and they said it shouldn't be a problem to take them off but would have to check and call me back.. Weird! They usually just check while your on the phone.

Anyway I told her It is going to be impossible to make delivery plus the, what was suppose to be 100 DH to get back to Vegas is now 300 mile DH on 2 way traffic back roads. It will be extremely costly plus the load I'm on has lost a lot of profit being re-routed over 260 miles..

I'm at a loss here... This is getting comical .. I will continue to push on as always, but wow!

TELL them to take them off if not just shut down and don't pick them up. It's not your fault the roads washed out. You're choice not company don't let them force you to run

Thanks Tenn.. That is my plan. I will complete the load I'm on then this truck will stop .. Support said she can't get a hold of anyone to authorize taking the next one off but said to call back in the morning.. Imagine that! ..

I hope all understand I'm not complaining.. I share these events so others looking into IC can hear about the ups and downs as an O/O. Schnieder has great program here and I like it But as with any business you can't just go into it all willy nilly. Ive had some big costs hit me lately with new tires, maintenance, taxes and now looking at couple weeks of low revenue. Fortunately planning and building reserves has and is bringing me through. It sucks at times, but all in all it is pretty good. I've had a lot of weeks where I've done really well too. Beyond what I thought was possible. Planning your loads to make as much as you can safely and saving your money as you go is my main course of action that keeps me going.

Now some of us like TennMan has millions of dollars and doesn't have worry much! LOL.. But the rest of us it takes a bit of effort more so than some may think....

Was poking around and saw that crazy 6 stopper dhu from WA to ND. Was seeing if I could string some loads together out west since there is a good paying load from TX to target in pueblo (99.9% sure that's where it's going) but decided to take a cheap load to Louisiana in order to book a 1300 1.85/mile load to Pittston pa. So far so good if none of these cancel lol. Looking at approximately $5500 in revenue for 8 days on 3550 miles including 400 paid bobtail miles to get an empty.

I just took that detour, headed South from SLC. It was a 268 miles detour. Off 15 had to take SR 56 to NV 319 to 93 back to 15. Took 4 1/2 hours. Have to watch your speed through the small towns. Police everywhere.

Is there any sort of 'real time' traffic alert program for all major highways throughout the US that a driver could subscribe to? Something to help prevent coming up on a situation like yours?
