    to sent a picture of my license to the guy who posted the ad for the job? he ask me for it and also how do I prevent from those craiglist transportation jobs not paying me? cause my friend said he did one and they were preventing to pay him for what the job he did. so sent a photo of my license so he can run it with his insurance to see if his rates will go up or no its a scam trying to steal your information

    Seems like one of those 1099 flakey jobs.

    I've never been asked to send a copy of my CDL.
    @Ridgeline what do you think?

    They don’t need a photo.
    When I call insurance company they’ll ask Name, and drivers license number, which in our state is random number and not tied to anything but license.
    Dont need a copy.

    tscottme, Chinatown and austinmike Thank this.

    That feels like ID theft to me. I hope they don't use your info to make a fake CDL and fill your MVR with tickets & crashes.

    Why does nobody ask "is this a good idea" BEFORE they do something?

    That's how 1099 jobs pre-qualify you. I had to do it that way when I did the 1099 thing. They do things a little differently than the big companies. It's no big deal. To answer the 2nd part of your post, if you want to avoid those situations, don't go to a 1099 company unless you have no other options, due to a bad record.

    If you already sent it, it's too late to ask.
