Bus stop? You mean that stand thing where people sit or the actual sign?I have yet to go OTR but during my CDL training those turns are always stressful. One time I was turning left at a really tight four way light and I didn't turn the wheel as much as I needed because I was too busy focusing on shifting gears. I didn't make the turn as the truck was directly in front of the crosswalk sidewalk soo I had to back up in the four way light. Embarrassing and dangerous.
I know how that feels. I had a speeding ticket early in my career that I thought would get me fired. Everything turned out fine, but here's the lesson I learned, and maybe it applies to you too: Save up money as fast as you can until you have enough to let you sleep well at night. That vulnerable feeling you're feeling now? Use it as motivation. If you need additional inspiration this thread at the MMM forums has a lot of good stories about the importance of having an "eff you fund".
NEWTRUCKER.... get away from California 99 cent and dollar store accounts. I am a drivers wife who used to ride along, and I have SEEN those places, and those turns.. it's not a place for an inexperienced driver. My husband had 12 years when he was doing those, and he got out of it as fast as he could!
Speaking of backing.... If it's any consolation I backed a fifth mile down I-93 on the shoulder to get to the junction of 101-E after I whiffed last night (#### left exits!).......... What nobody saw nobody can cry about. Thank you 0330. The dark and I are one.
They should not fire you. But please for your own sanity get out of that dollar store account dedicated. If the 4 stores in my area are any indicator, I used to sit out and watch other Werners try to back in across a divided highway against people daring him to hit them, they can use the insurance money. Or even get shot for resistant holdup. Please consider getting out of that dedicated account. Write on your heart not to serve the dollar stores again.
Totally not the smartest thing in the world, glad nobody was killed. Not paying attention? It is marked fairly well
LOL! I have been in there a few years ago, but in my pickup. I remember it being tight then... Well, pretty much anything in Bezerkly is tight. Lol
