It was the only pair of glasses I had and they accidentally broke. Should I still go in and take the physical or cancel until I get them fixed? On my drivers license, it says that glasses are required. I should be able to read to the 5th line without them, but I'm not sure. What should I do here? Should I cancel and wait until my glasses are fixed?

If the glass isn't broken I don't SEE why they wouldn't let you hold the lens up to your eye.

I'd try anyway and tell the doctor you just broke them today.

That is the one reason I appreciate my lens implant. I can see anything from 9 inches to 24 inches which is either the eye test the state adminsters to you where we are for the 9 inches and the 24 inches being either the dashboard or the front sights of the colt railgun with the bad guy target blurred as normal. When they ask I dont need glasses to keep it between the lines. Now.. if I needed them to back a trailer into a dock.. that might get a little tricky because those trailer wheels are 60 feet over yonder.

For a car license only one working eye is needed.

And Skateboard had a good suggesting there with the lens of the old glasses monocle style to attempt the test with the understanding you are ordered a new set of glasses.

Always carry a spare set of glasses. Ive had to use them in the past with some success even if they are a out of date prescription. So when you get the new glasses this week or whenever, pay twice for TWO sets of glasses and keep one for spare.

And find the revenuer office who administers the CDL Test for sight who will listen to you when you say no you don't need glasses. That way if something truly happens you are not going to catch additional problems trying to get somewhere so you can order up a new set of glasses while waiting a few days in the hotel room for them to be made to order.

Look at the regs. I believe it states you need to have a spare pair

Tell them that though you can't read the chart you self identify as a non visually impaired individual and it would be discriminatory to suggest otherwise.

I was told that I have to have a spare on the truck! So this is great advice. Walmart has some super inexpensive options if you don't have insurance now.

One time, my glasses broke and I went to Walmart and found 2 identical reading glasses with my prescription.

One was for right prescription. And one was for the left. I popped out the lenses and fixed an emergency pair in my car because my RX was too old to make new.

This worked until I could get an appointment.

Got any readers handy? I would tell the med tech what happened and give it a try.
