Van... company Van at that
-
Ok.... When you say company. Are you working for an O/O?
-
I own my truck, I get 65% pulling a company van compared to others who get 72% with pulling their own. But they're excluded from pulling drop & hook freight of course.
rickybobby Thanks this. -
For instance ...
Dyesburg TN to OK
SNI rate to contractor = 1.91 Toll =8.50 ( get back )
LS gross rate 2.73( then take 65%). Toll in rate
So explain to me again what we don't get for free -
The thing you dislike about LS so much is you have to do your own math. It seems you despise that. I've told you over countless times about the 65%, you get the fuel surcharge 100%. While you might get 1.91 on that load to OK, it's not as simple as you mutlplying your buddy load by 65% to see what he's getting a mile. He could still be averaging over $2 a mile on that load with fuel surcharge and getting the tolls add 100%.
And for the most part yes, our rates are on par with you guys to an extent even tho i seen something about getting $2 a mile isn't uncommon coming out of Chicago, which it is actually common to get good rates out of Chicago year around, but is it common to get a load paying $600 going 10 miles at SNI Choice? Is it common to run a dedicated route getting paid $1000 a day? Is It common to haul an automotive parts logistics load over there for over $6 to $7 a mile in & around South Carolina & Detroit area? Heck, I pulled two SNI Brokerage loads over the summer that payed me $1300 on 250 miles, why didn't you guys get it, I'm sure plenty of truck are in and around the Virginia/NC area.
I've always said opportunies like that what separated LS from SNI Choice, and no you don't have to develop a relationship to get loads like that with a agent. I could post load alerts with loads being posted like that. It sounds like a great program over there but you don't have to constantly throw digs at LS to show how great you think SNI Choice is.
And you say explain to you what you dont get free, so I take it you have no deductions on payday and Schneider doesn't make a buck off of you running off of their authority & plates?? Even before you got into your new truck? They're just offering you & other guys to run freight for free with them earning nothing? So if you're getting that 1.91 a mile all in coming from Dyersburg to OK, where's the other 0.70+ cents going??
And before the rest of the Kool-Aid gang jumps me, I'm not bitter at all or dislike SNI, like i said, it sound like a good thing over there, I would love to book freight without dealing with agents but to many false things has been tossed around in here since the start.Dipschitt Thanks this. -
What do you mean where is the other going same place it is at LS ...
Secondly ...
If you get 100% FS so do we ... We just dint have to call a agent beg for them to take more off rate and put on fuel etc then wait for a confirmation of the load
We also don't
1.Pay for use of load board ( access fee ) I think LS calls it something can't remember think it's called a technology fee .
2. QC fee to be on E logs what is it they charge you ?
3. Per page to scan
4. How much is it to get that fuel advance loaded on your card just so you can buy fuel 1% $3.00
or what ever it is .
5. Tolls who lays them in that rate ? 90% of our tolls are covered in addition to the rate ..
6.load cancellation - how u get paid ? Let me tell you if the BROKER COLLECTS you get yours same with detention pay ... Our stuff cancels .. we arrive in the QC ... Call real quick or send message. Collect our $150 and rebook and go ..
our detention is not great but it's something if your delayed over 6 ... Very rare though here
Now tell tge truth when you say 2.00 a Mile out of Chicago is that to the truck or ??? We can easily get 1.70 to 1.95 or more out of Chicago and our tolls are covered and We can most likely HOOK & BOOK where you are prob in a dock somewhere spending time ... Oops our tolls are covered too not out of the rate but above the rate
Just why I think SNI trumps LSskyviper73 Thanks this. -
Yes I'm baisis ...
But even outside looking in its just looks better here . I had a thread on the OO forum before I came to LS weighing out both programs ...
I came here and never regretted it -
Are you sure it goes to the same place? Again, I'm finding it so hard to believe that your permits, plates, tags, etc are "free" and SNI isnt charging you a dime for it. It doesn't say in your packet that you signed where your 35% going to?
And are you also sure you got that FS 100%? And who says we have to call agent to beg them for anything? Do you mean for an agent to call us and beg us to take the load and offer more money? That happens often over here...
And to your other inquires
1. No such thing, I have never heard nothing like that before. It doesn't show up on my Contractor Statement
2. Correct
3. Not Per Page but $2 a load
4. $1.50
5. Ok, yours is covered by the company & we get the money to get it covered by the agent if we desire. I don't see the issue here but ok
6. If the load cancels and I'm in route, I get a TONU $300. I've gotten it 3 tines over here. Only time I hear you don't get it is dealing with Air Freight. I've gotten Detention & Layover pay.
Just checked the last load I did from the Chicago Area (Elk Grove Village) now lets do a little math that you hate to do apparently.
Elk Grove Village to Henderson, NC... Drop N Hook in NC
Total Revenue 2,059 + 341 = 2400
2,059 x .65 = 1338
Fuel Surcharge and Toll Money = 341
Spent $25 on tolls in between West VA Pike & in Illinois
1338+341 = 1679.35
1679 /812 = 2.06 a mile
Now if we did it your way 2400/812 I would of only got 1.92 a mile.
Now, the shameless, "youre probably sitting in a dock somewhere wasting time" come on man was that necessary? Rarely do I spend more than an hour getting loaded/unloaded. Half of my freight is drop n hook. And see we have something called Load Alerts via email on phone. So we don't have to start at Computers all day looking for the next load. I spend 10 mins on the load board at most during the week.
But hey can I get answer for my previous question tho, Does SNI Choice have those opportunities that I mentioned in that earlier post? I seen that got skipped on byLast edited: Nov 21, 2014
