Screwed up. Left a decent gig for one I hate. Too many jobs in a year.

Could the retribution be any worse than what you are dealing with now?.

You leaving probably wouldn't be enough reason for them to dislike you unless you left them hanging when quit.

Not all local jobs are awful, but the good ones can be hard to find. I left a cushy yard jockey job and took a chance with my current job and it turned out extremely well. I am home every night, paid by the hour, with overtime, but I don't work my tail off like the ltl guys. Everything I do is no touch, truckload, point a to point b. Just bump the dock and punch the clock lol.

    OP, where do you live?

One undeniable truth is that it is still grass.

Was normal for me.I hated local driving with a passion.Every day I dreaded going to work.I called in sick with one local company more days then with all my other jobs combined.Once a week I called in or went home early.I'll tell you right now since you hate it it's not going to get any better no matter who you drive locally for.I would suggest call your old employer and ask for your job back.

the deer often outruns the lion, the lion is running for food while the deer is running for life, purpose is more important than need.

A guy I know that runs a small company in Norfolk told me a while back that if the driver comes in and gives him a notice he tells the driver he can come back if he see's he made a mistake. If they don't he puts a small note with their final check saying it. It is my understanding several have come back. We all make mistakes this is why I have always tried to tell drivers to NEVER burn that bridge. Sometimes you need to cross it again.

In this business you can leave calling your FM/safety/maintenance names and most of the time you will be forgiven if you ask to come back. However the major bridge burners is quitting while under load and just abandoning the load. Quitting or refusing to go get a critical load and you are the only driver close. And doing deliberate damage to company property. I remember a driver that after cleaning out his truck took the office coffee pot and urinated in it. The owner said it would be a snowy day in hell before that moron ever worked for him again. Most drivers quit call their FM an ####### clean out their trucks. Most of the time you can get your job back but it can be a bit awkward.

I tell drivers all the time. "The grass is rarely greener on the other side"

The first sign of being Kaye's up and drivers start looking and hating there current company. We've all been there, hell im here NOW!

I'm resetting my bourse for the 5th time this month! The way the kids are going is just not in my favor. However, I go hunting next Friday-Thursday and will still finish the month with a little over 12000 miles making my bonus. This has been my worse month ever!

This is where drivers are crying and running. I talk to drivers who have never made the bonus, ( I've never missed one) drivers who complain about everything. Take the good with the bad and look at what youve made. Know that it's not the normal..

You didn't have 4 jobs, right?
No, you only had 2 and took some time off for personal reasons, right?
    That's what I thought.

Check with your old company, if you keftnon good terms and we're a good driver for them, they'll take you back most likely.
