Local drivers can mean several things. One is P&D, pick up and delivery...this is mostly strictly city driving with a lot of deliveries, etc. For example when you see a Yellow or Roadway or similar pup trailers running around town he or she is a local driver and home every night. Some local jobs might send you on a 100 mile turn and you still get home that night. All depends on company and job type. I run mostly local although I do some 485 mile turns as well and come right back home. That's more like in-state rather than local and I can do that in a day cab too if necessary.

What kinds of accidents are the most common with new drivers?

I'm with Notarps, backing. Maybe sideswipe/curb turning type incidents as a second place contender. This is not factual but I would throw in rollover's as a third place winner. What do you guys think?
