Some people are just good at mining the internet information gold mine. Chinatown is one of them. His info is not only vast but is also correct. He is a great resource in TTR.

You really want to know, No do not go trucking, instead buy a 379 and a nice 5th wheel trailer to pull and just go traveling when she can get off. Don't mess with a good formula.

Vic Firth and buddyd157 Thank this.

What gets me is the what ifs, this is not a hobby but a business and one that has a higher failure rate than most industries.

What if you can't make it.

    What if the market dumps.

And a whole lot of what ifs.

I didnt get there yet but what if you can't drive because of your preexisting injury?

    buddyd157 Thanks this.

IMHO, if you want to go traveling and make a little money doing it, get into expediting. Driving a Sprinter Van (or similar), as long as you arent hauling hazmat, you generally have no HOS, no weigh stations, no fight to find parking almost every night if you are still driving after 18:00 hrs. They may not pay quite as much, but a lot less headaches. I wish some of them hired drivers as a company driver without the 1099 hooey. If any do, I am not aware of them. Big trucks are getting to be a big pain!

Pass it every two years. I just renewed my card in may in fact. The VA does it differently. Im functional, I just have issues is all and I was wounded while active duty. Im not 100% disabled per say, just by VA standards.

Delivering RVs might be an option for you. If you’re interested check out the drive away companies near Elkhart Indiana. They deliver nationwide and they love owner operators to pull travel trailers and motor home drivers.
