The guy who killed two people in Oklahoma after doing a wake-and-bake is a prime example of why drivers should not be allowed to consume THC during their 10-hour break - if at all.

That’s like saying drinking on your days off is the same as drinking and driving. And the reality is, he was on his phone. People are confusing the question with what the law is. We all know the law. We get it. The question is should it be changed to allow on time off away from the truck. And I do agree with your previous post that better road side testing is needed first. That’s what Canada skipped past before they legalized it and it should have been the first thing done.

There is no confusion on the question. The members who have the experiance know that the crap does indeed effect you much longer than you care to admit to. They also know how easy it is and would be to hide the use during driving hours and what abuses that would lead to.

If that’s what you’re afraid of why not ban alcohol too? You can’t tell if a guy is passing you with a beer in the cup holder (other than possibly wearing a dress or something) or a coffee mug full of Vodka or Rum. You’re basing a decision on what someone might do during work instead of on days off. If that’s the case they could just as easily drink and drive during the work hours as well if that’s the argument.

You seem to keep skipping the fact that it affects you for longer periods then you are willing to admit to!
Alcohol consumption is also much harder to conceal, or fake your way threw.
Give me some visine, a halls cough drop and presto without extensive testing I appear straight. Can't do that with alcohol.

No, because again we don't have any way to determine how much is in your system at any given point in time.

And on top of that, THC stored in the fat cells can be re-released into somebody's system when those fat cells are tapped to provide energy for the body. So it's possible to have THC in your system long after the last time you actually consumed cannabis.

I'm pretty sure that it's metabolites that are stored in the fat cells and those are just the byproduct of thc.

But THC in metabolite form can still affect the user.
