Now we arent talking about the same thing. (In Minnesota you dont go to jail for 2oz of weed either, but you have contractors working on your multi-story prison complex - because weed=drug so I was comparing apples to apples ie the same sentence).

Suddenly you are changing from someone walking down the street with a bag of grass in their pocket to wiping out a school bus, but let me ask you this...
whats the difference if they were high and ran into that bus or they were looking at their phone? 1 is a drug offense (maybe) and the other isnt. So 1 will get you sent to Haiti and the other wont. Whats the difference to the dead kids in the bus?

The B52 has exactly 5 seats... The crew consists of the Commander, Pilot, Radar navigator, Navigator, and Electronic Warfare Officer.

Maximum non-crew passenger capacity is ZERO.

Now when you look at aircraft with passenger seating, go check any AMC terminal to see how long service members themselves sit around waiting for a "Space Available" seat on an aircraft. I personally sat for 7 days in a terminal in South Carolina before renting a car to get to my grandfather's funeral in CA and driving there in 44 hours because there were no seats available for a Soldier on Emergency Leave (Category I, Cat II are the accompanying dependents for EML, III is Ordinary Leave, all the way down to VI for retirees).

There isn't the vacant seating capacity you envision.

I spent many years in the military and see them outfit planes to do all kinds of non standard stuff but sure let's pretend they cannot put bench seats in a B52, They have larger planes like the C5 that carry tons of troops all over the world. Not to mention they also have dozens of 747's commercial aircraft under contract. We have the capacity so it is a non issue.

As long as the alcoholics in state legislatures and the US House and Senate are making the rules alcohol will not be looked at the same way as Marijuana is. Just sayin'.

No I have not missed the point. The question was should we be able to use weed in our time off. I believe I answered it and gave reason as to why you can not. Granted, If legal in your state, then you are not breaking any laws by smoking it in your home on time off. Problem is, when you step in the truck and its still in your system. If you get tested by company random, DOT or post accident by law enforcement. You are done. I fail to see how that misses the point. So unless the laws change, which I dont see that happening at the federal/dot level anytime soon. You cant do it. And it's not going to be held to the same standard as alcohol, and it shouldn't be.

I would like to be able to use CBD and not risk the potential of failing a drug screen at the very least.

Let's just pretend the Haitian prison deal is a wash and the whole idea simply justifies why the presenter of said idea is a truck driver and not a politician. Discuss

Bear in mind that the majority of tests surrounding marijuana use are antiquated and many were biased to simply reinforce and not challenge the law at the time. This discussion still holds precedent that Marijuana use is legalized and that; not unlike an alcohol level less than 0.04 affirms it is permissible to operate a CMV, it was clearly stated that devices are being developed or already are that can introduce a testing standard comparable to that of alcohol and, thusly determine ones eligibility to also drive a CMV. So why not? Not one poster yet has presented an argument that substantiates the current state of the law, denying said liberties.

The link didn't substantiate your expressed opinion. In fact it went on to clear marijuana as the culprit, not blame it. It's clearly written in the quotes I pasted.

Show me where I suggested any such provisions that deviated from the drugs alcohol and marijuana per the discussion.

And you've not understood the meaning of vices. Miriam-Webster's 3rd interpretation would equate as "a habitual and usually trivial defect or shortcoming”.
