Sitting for 4 days …

Nah, never did Dry Van, I was doing Flatbed, I don't know about Reefer though, I heard they have crazy schedules lol...

Yeah, reefers have crazy schedules, but that's what I like. Did OTR reefers for 18 years and no regrets.
Not for everyone though.

 

Yup... I like things calm and cool, I hate stressful stuff lol.

Are you flatbedding now? Also, if you are flatbed, what sort of freight does your company haul? I have never heard of a flatbed company that would sit a truck for 4 days. Factor in the extremely low pay and you have a company whose drivers would be running like rats on a sinking ship. Where exactly did you sit?

 

ALFRED ( E. Newman), where have you been? We need you more than ever now,,,while "sitting" does suck, many times it's out of the carriers control, and if you haul a commodity that is prone to delays, it's part of the game, and why there was probably an opening when you applied. To get around that, you have to haul things that generally are exempt from that. Bulk tanker loads, flatbed, drop and hook freight, but if you haul what 47 million other drivers are hauling, there's bound to be a bottle neck. Many times, there simply isn't room for your product, and you become their "warehouse" for a few days. Pay doesn't sound too out of line, but I agree, you need the miles. Good luck.

 

Went from van/reefer, to flatbed? CRE? Western Express? Swift?

 

You live near which city? @Chinatown will help with suggestions. If your near a big city maybe an LTL company would be better.

 

If you're under one year of experience..........DO NOT START JUMPIMG AROUND from company to company. You will cripple your career.

The only one's that will take you are mega's, and it's the same ####, with a different name on the door.

Do your year, keep your nose clean, and your record, and you will get on with a substantially better company.
