I have also noticed a large influx of old trucks running....And by "old"...I mean like late 80's COE's on the road...Sort of a "Last Hurrah Pre-CARB '14".....

I had an LS load they swore was legal....A partial that paid $2700...Three pressure vessels...
I figured I could sweeten the run by adding another LTL and make it a $3700 run to Denver and at least $1600 back down....

Well the shipper put the first two on the deck....I measured 10' to the deck....And they said they could jockey the last vessel to make it come in at 14' from the top to the ground...But after they set the last one...I was at 15' 3" to the ground.....I could run that high with permits in AZ...UT...And CO...But in CA..."Every load is divisible"...So no permits and besides...LS wouldn't pay extra even if I could get permitted by Cali....I did get paid for a TNU for my time....

Ugh!!!!!....I still kick myself for not buying a drop-deck....

Anyway...I found another load to Denver that paid $2500 and I have a load of Snowmobiles that I'm dropping today....

Good deal. $2.50 average is about right. I'm banking

on rates going up due to carb, it's why I bought the truck I did, when I did...
