Speaking with a friend that was talking to a Phoenix driver. Said even if you are on home time for 2 days? Park at the terminal and clean your truck out!

If this is true it is a stupid move on Swift's part. I live 185 mi from my terminal. I am not going to keep a car here.

I've spent too much time getting this tractor into shape.

In days gone by...Swift policy was "more than 4 days off".

2 days? I highly doubt that one...sounds like someone just trying to get a rise out of you. Especially this time of year when every company is struggling to keep their fleets moving...no matter where you are!

Never believe "Joe Blow trucker"...get the current "ruling" from your DM! And living 185 miles away...the old policy was within 75 miles you needed to leave the rig at the terminal for days off.

and in PHX, with as many trucks as they have on the yard at all times, they are hardly 'hurting' for power units.

I am sitting in Memphis. I will ask if anyone there is a company Phoenixian. Looks like I may have to wait until tomorrow for a load. Lots of trucks here.

    Believe it.
Current policy is no more than 3 days off without cleaning out your truck. And the phx yard is the worst about snatching trucks. They literally search the computer records of trucks in the area and check what their status is. Depending upon your dm you'll have more or less problems with the issue.

They dropped it to 4 about 2 years ago and then to 3 a little over a year ago I think. There isn't a shortage currently of trucks.

Just shows that "Swift Accepts" the challenge of supporting their drivers! Every time I switched trucks they would be putting in a new mattress.

I was told there is 60 drivers waiting for trucks there. Same for Fontana.
