    I just recently got my CDL class A permit here in NYC recently, and I asked the Prime recruiter if I could get a couple more endorsements before I head over the to Springfield so I could then just start with the road test portion of the training, and the recruiter told me that because of some new federal law, I can't transfer my NY permit and endorsements to Missouri. Is this true?

    Also, I heard (at least from a year ago) that Earl Henderson Trucking has gone downhill in terms of ownership. And as a result, it's affected trucker morale over there. Any truth to this?

    I know for me personally my double/tripples and tanker endorsements transferred just fine from Nevada to Colorado. Haz-mat did not transfer at all and I had to go through the entire process all over again to get that endorsement.

    You have to turn in your NY license over to Missouri. Then start from scratch if that will be where you train.

    @TahoeTrucker
    I'm talking about Missouri. The recruiter told me that this rule went into effect on January 1st of this year.

    I gotta admit; I'm not the greatest when it comes to taking exams sometimes either. I understand the written tests aren't THAT hard, but it's still a hassle to go to the DMV WHERE EVER you go and deal with the LOOOONG waits.

    So it is true then.... Oh well, at least I didn't blow too much money on those exams.

    And if anyone has any info about my other question, I'd really appreciate all the help I can get. I'm deciding whether to do my training at Prime or Earl Henderson.

    Just went through Prime to get my CDL this month.. a PA permit would not transfer and had to take general knowledge, air brake, tanker and combination endorsements at Missouri DMV on second day of orientation.

    All four tests took around an hour to complete, maybe hour and half tops. Study practice tests on this site as well as CristCDL for a week or two and you should have no problem. There was no wait at the DMV other than the other 10-20 Prime PSDs you'll be shuttled over with. They had plenty of computer space for all of us when I was there.

    I was also told that this new rule went into effect as of Jan 1, 2016 so I would believe that to be true.

    Earl Henderson is probably having growing pains since they bought Tennant (flatbed) and also now connected to Trekker.
    I don't know the full details, but Henderson still seems like a pretty good deal other than you graduate with an Illinois CDL that you'll have to change to New York.
    Probably can't go wrong with either Prime or Henderson.
    Prime tanker division would be good. It's food grade tanker.

    Exactly why I went to school and highered on with a company operating locally to the house. Too much BS to go to work, especially in a career field that is likely to chew more than a few new guys up and spit them out. Who knows, I could be one of them.

    Do you not have hazmat? There is a process, fingerprinting, background check then Witten test, was 30 questions in IL. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, so keep your stupid sarcastic comments to yourself
