with in you 14 you can drive 11 and break for atleast one 30 min break. The new rule only affects running out on your 14, and doesn"t affect your 11 at all.

 

jesus christ guys its not that friggin hard when u start ur day work/drive for 3 hours then pull in to a rest area log off duty or in the sleeper and make urself a sandwich, mt ur piss jug, walk ur dog whatever for 30 minutes and then climb back in ur truck and finish ur day like u normally would it's that friggin easy sheesh

u lose 30 minutes a day thats all this 30 minute break must be done before WITHIN the first 8 hours of ur day

Before 8 hours, dang, so after 7.5 hours I have to take a break now? When did they change the rules?

July 1 (tommorrow) goes into effect and you can be on duty for up to 8 hours not 7.5. After you are on duty (including driving) for 8 hours if you have not taken your 30 minute break, you cannot drive until you do so.

 

And if your sitting at a dock, which most of us are, that counts towards the 30 minute break. But you still have the full 11 if you need it. I think it's a stupid rule because most people dont drive 11 hours straght.
