It is amazing, isn't it. I cannot understand how so many people cannot understand the simple changes. I sometimes hear and read the comments stated, and say to myself, "It is no wonder that the trucking "profession" is considered unskilled labor."

I have driven 10 hours and 42 minutes straight one day so could make the run on time.Elog. Butt was a little sore. If it wasnt a stop sign, a red light or a toll booth, I didnt stop.

It's not that it's a break, it's that it's 30 min. I normally do 10-20 min break. After 20 I'm just sitting there wanting to go. The 34 doesn't really bother me as I rarely do resets.

I understand your point. I'm not a break taker never have been. Even in my punch the clock work days.

I take my lunch and other snacks in a cooler. That half hour can make the difference between getting home in an hour from my company yard or in two hours because of city traffic. If I get back to my yard before 3 p.m. I can make it home in an hour. If I get back to my yard anytime after 3 up until about 6 p.m. it usually takes me anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours of bumper to bumper gridlock to get home. Most times I plan my day accordingly and can beat the rush but sometimes it's close. That half hour is definitely going to come into play with me especially when the new 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. rule is in effect for those two days.

Yep, like what if your right on the 8 hour threshold for your destination? You think you can make it, but traffic, weather, whatever screws that up? Please don't come back and say poor trip planning, because you all know any number of things can screw up plans, and cause this scenario.

What's amusing to me is with all the new changes coming tomorrow the only one most people are upset about is the 30 minute break rule. Most drivers spend a least 30 minutes at the TS fueling or waiting to fuel.

Just wait till the reset rule screws you over. And I know I know recap..... Not everyone can just work 8.25 hrs in a day or spends hrs in a dock waiting.

You'll spend at least 30 min at pilot fuel pump just to get up to the pumps.
