Looks like 2 smaller trailers, just the right size for the task.

Yeah, that stage trailer was definitely heavier then they said. . It felt like it had a heavy coil rolling forward and back when you’d hit the brake or take off. It only went 55 miles, $650.00. I’m supposed to bid a longer run this morning, a 40’ fifth wheel rv going from San Bernardino, Ca area to Redding, Ca.

Just had my best week all from central dispatch running PA-LA-NJ. 2 units south and 3 back north. 2950 miles from parking spot to parking spot. Left monday morning and got home friday afternoon. $7700 before tips. $2.61 per all miles.
Should have been 8700-9000 but I couldn't close on a third unit before I left. There were a few options but lazy brokers wouldn't get back to me in time .

I think we are all seeing a little rise in rates and it’s a fair move, diesel and maintenance costs have gone up.

I'm on course to break that record this week.
I'll post it here if it works out.

It's a pretty tried-and-true business model in the trucking world, although it might be going away at some point if congress has it's way. Not everyone can afford the insurance on a new venture right off the bat, if they can even get it. Also a carrier will usually cut a settlement check every week for turned-in delivery paperwork where as typical brokers pay invoices net 30 right? It's again a money/cash-flow issue. (Possibly factoring companies can be of assistance there to independent guys)
