Yeah I think on the CPAP, sleep apnea issue that the blue ribbon commission or whatever it was where congress appointed some distinguished citizens to study this issue. Well it turned out the guys they appointed to study, who recommended sleep apnea tests be done on all commercial drivers, well, these guys all had ties to the industry producing the breathing machines, healthcare for sleep studies, etc... I think they were in certain associations. That's how all these great ideas come about, we get bent over and pay the price, they get rich through crony facism. The story with elogs and why the big push is probably very similar to the sleep apnea fraud. Corruption....

You'd be surprised at the people out there who think all is grand and the system is just fine. Greatest country in the world, flag waving, rah, rah... Rotten to the core is the truth..

Put a EOBR on every truck in the country and someone will be cashing a big commission check. It's always about money, not safety.

If you take away the profit, you take away the need for the regulation.

Where do you think you could go to do what you have done in the past 6-months?

Are things perfect? Not by a long shot. But with all the issues and political posturing where can you go and from nothing being a complete success.

December 2010 my authority when active. At that, Lauren and I could not pay all our bills in the month they they where due.

March 2012, we have a small carrier with 6 trucks running, brokerage business going live, factoring, have given a young, single mother a carrier vs. a job, all bills are paid before they are due and the only thing holding us back from being twice what we are now is that we are taking it a bit slow to make sure we get all the systems working properly.

On top of that I would like to think that we have given other O/O's the opportunity to achieve more than you could with almost any other company.

And doing all this being honest and ethical.

So, yeah, rah, rah. - Can't think of any other country that will give me, or you, this opportunity.

You're right Bill. I'd be hard pressed to have this shot anywhere else except maybe Australia The tax situation in this country is outrageous though with no end in sight. The endless propaganda drum beats eroding basic liberties and pushing unlawful wars make me sick to my stomach. There's something fundamentally wrong with this country where most people want to stick their head in the sand and pretend that all is grand.

Yeah, I'm coming in on the tail end of this conversation, and yeah, I'm an 'FNG'.. but I can't stand by after reading your last two posts without saying this: If you don't like it here, I hear Mexico is hiring drivers and mules. :biggrin_25510:

I'm not pretending all is grand here -- it's not. I don't agree with our government on a number of issues, and our politics just plain suck.
BUT. It's our country, it's my country, and I would sign on the dotted line all over again and die for what we DO have.
Rotten? Some aspects of it sure are. But at the core? No. At the core I believe there are still the liberties, hopes, and dreams that this nation was founded on.
And yes, I do believe this is the greatest country in the world. And yes, I do have my American flag waving on my front porch. Right next to the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor.
