    I think they started a thread on the same subject and the reason was needing to do a pre employment drive with their potential boss riding along to witness their first attempt at splitting gears... The person is hoping to drive a 9spd for the ridealong and figure out the 13 later out of fear of grinding things to oblivion in front of a would be boss.
