Hey Guys, I need to know if it is better to transition into O/O signing on with a company with their truck or signing on with your own truck. I have no O/O experience.

I never ever ever ever lease a truck from a company I'm leased on too. If things go south, all the payments you made are equal to a fart in the wind. At least with your own truck, you change signs and get to trucking again.

even a job you love with great people do not lease a truck from them , things Change very fast and you are tied to a company that has you by the balls . its a lot better to start out leased to a company than getting your own authority as some are finding out now with just a normal season al rate drop on the spot market. preferable to have a company that has self dispatch or at least where you have some say . there are plenty of places that will lease you a truck such as lone mt. and you will find that any company will treat you better because they have too as they dont have a hold on you what so ever

What's wrong with leasing onto a company?

Thats what I'm currently doing, 7 months in...the more research I do, the more fearful I am of making the leap.
