She PM'd me yesterday, and gave me an update....
She went back on the Mentors truck and he continued his entering in her log, and actually got a bit worse in his "tactics"....she was supposed to be with a different Mentor today!

Sorry about my late response. Been busy driving what can I say. Did a 14 hour day, followed by an 11 hour driving day. I'm on a new mentor's truck now. I think he is a lot like Hugh off of ice road truckers in personality lol. He's honest and everything but runs hard and has that personality. He's going to be changing careers after he trains me so he seems to be giving me honest insight into the industry as far as different jobs or fleets and all that. Much better. Now I'm primarily using the E-Logs, which sure makes it a lot easier.

welcome back and congrats on having a mentor who is doing his job.

Today my current mentor started harassing me about me not driving enough. I ran 2800 miles this week. This is my first week of training mind you. He's saying that, he as an experienced driver, drives 3100 or more miles per week. He's also giving me crap now about, the fact that I need to get my priorities straight so I can drive more as I needed a nap during one of my night drives (took a 1.5 hour nap) and still made it to the destination in my 11/14 hour clock, drove for 10.25 hours. I took the nap for a few reasons, had 2 extra days to deliver and still got the 34 hour reset, and I wanted to wait for the sun to come up to clear out some of the animals. I'm averaging about 10 hours a day currently. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that decent for even an experienced driver?
scottied67 and The Challenger Thank this. -
Oh another thing is how many power inverter's can be hooked up to a truck? I'm thinking about going to buy one as he isn't letting me charge my computer on his.
Edit: Well I hooked my new one up and it works. However he's pissed now because he has to idle the truck more lol. He has the truck loaded with electronics just for him. Cooler, fans, TV, Laptop, External hdd, 3 cell phone chargers, satellite radio plus CB(all of which I'm not allowed to use) and he blames it all either on me having a light on to read, or my computer. I just can't win I guess.Last edited: Nov 14, 2011

Request a new one and explain things are not going that well. No shame in wanting a better mentor.

Get a new mentor. There are selfish people in every field, including this one, and he sounds like one of them. And we all know that good experience does not necessarily translate into good teacher. You need a good teacher. Keep asking for changes until you get one.

You do seem to get the great mentors.
mtnMoma Thanks this.
