Here's what happened the last time I quit Werner...

Got into my last argument with dispatch, told my DM to route my truck back to PA cause I was (bleep)ing done with his crap and I formally (bleep)ing quit! The truck was going to PA with or without freight. DM said he'd shut off my fuel card if I tried it, I told him to go ahead. I had already topped off my tanks (obviously). Load came through in a matter of minutes, proving even Werner CAN work efficiently if properly motivated.

Got the load, took off down the road showing absolutely NO sense of hurry or much sense of direction. Heck, I was moving in a generally eastern direction! That puts me head and shoulders above most Werner drivers of my personal experience. Stopped for on the western side of Chicago, enjoyed a bit of a break. After dinner, I called my DM just before he was set to leave for the day, and told him I was leaving the load in the Girard, OH drop yard. Therefore, he was now going to be forced to spend the next hour or two getting the load covered before he could go home....pissing me off can be a generally bad idea.

Night dispatch called and threw a true fit, telling me I HAD to finish the load or I'd be charged....I was less than polite in my response, but it boiled down to I already quit and was no longer employed my Werner Enterprises and they could stuff their problems and attitude in an appropriate orifice. The trailer would be in Girard whenever I got around to getting it there.

Trailer got dropped the next day with plenty of time to get the delivery to the consignee on time, and me and my truck bobtailed on home for cleanout. I kept the truck at the house for a bit to ensure I got my last paycheck. I made sure the company was made fully aware that either I got paid, or I was holding the truck and placing a lien on the truck for back pay plus daily storage fees at $100/day. Truck would be released upon full payment. Final paycheck hit the account on payday at full amount, truck got returned to Werner property. Yep, dropped the truck off at the Girard, OH dropyard. After all, the dropyard was abot an hour's drive from the house, and I certainly wasn't going to inconvenience myself for a company like Werner.

My DAC report from Werner, pulled six months later, listed me a rehire "pending review". Never stopped me from getting another trucking job. Piss on Werner. Show them just as much respect as they show you.

TruckDuo and Phil S Thank this.

After reading your post you sound kind of childish.

You call it childish, I call it standing up for decent treatment from an employer. I will not be victimized by an employer. I am selling them my time at an agreed upon rate of pay. I expect to be treated with a minimal level of respect.
