Thanks for all the positive support. Swift was okay and able to make money....just making more at SNI and ability to route myself means alot. Gives me more freedom. I was a company driver for Swift from 2012 to Jan 2014...then bought my truck from Lone Mountain Truck Leasing and contracted back onto Swift since it was the path of least resistance and since I knew their operation. Was looking at Landstar but liked SNI options better, and happy with the choice. Many drivers are happy with Landstar....but we all decide to decide what is right for "us". I like the fact that I do not have to talk with brokers, make phone calls to get loads, etc.....SNI load board is great!!!!!
Not to sidetrack your thread GA but I'm looking at the possibility of getting a truck through Lone Mountain. It would be a new truck, so not really concerned about the truck itself, but more interested in your opinion of them in terms of the company itself. Since it is technically written as a lease, is there any fine print in the lease agreement regarding modifications to the truck before you have finished paying it off? Have you been happy with how you have been treated by them? If you make your payments on time, do they just leave you alone?
So far and per the lease I can make any modifications to the truck that I desire. This is a closed lease with me owning the truck at the lease end with no residual balloon payment...title provided in my name at lease end. Very happy with the terms and I have my payments automatically deducted monthly from my business checking account. I have only spoke to them at time of purchase, which was to verify information, terms, etc....since then I have not spoken to them at all. I was very happy with the way their Tifton, GA location treated me. They were happy to fix any issues I found in my and my 3rd party inspection, as I took the truck offsite for an independent inspection by an International dealer, then had a DOT done and a DYNO inspection. Great option if your bank or credit union will not touch you since you maybe a first time owner operator. Another option was Arrow Truck or Select but they were much further away from my house. They give you 3-days to inspect the truck and test it out, and also give a 6-month/50k engine warranty.
Hey I'm thinking abt leaving nestle and coming to Schneider what do you guys think finically would be best
Cdparkheights; Correct me if I am wrong, but I spoke to a Nestle driver out of Florida who said he is home nightly or every couple of nights during the week, gets paid by the hour (not CPM), and I believe it was pretty good pay too. Not to mention good company benefits. Why do you want to leave? Especially, if that gig is correct as I was told????
Grijon, sorry, but been busy this summer....things are going well here still at SNI Choice. No intention of leaving anytime soon. Will be glad to answer any questions you or anyone else may have.
As a Choice contractor - - I am limited to dry van. SNI tanker is a specialized division. You maybe able to haul reefer in some cases as I see temperature controlled loads on our load board, but have not looked into as not interested personally.
