most of the morons can’t keep right now as it is, doesn’t matter if you are wide open or not, you still aren’t going to be able to go anywhere on a majority of the highways

It isn’t intended to solve problems. The whole point is to forcibly dumb everybody else down to the level of the members of the ATA and all their Turdcadia drivers that go 10 mph under the speed limit in the middle lane on roads where trucks aren’t allowed in the left lane.Coover, CorsairFanboy, RubyEagle and 10 others Thank this.

I think we should intentionally clog everything up. It wouldn't take everyone to participate (although everyone would... intentionally or not), just a few along the road every 100 miles or so. Eventually, it'd be clogged up from New Mexico to New Jersey.
It wouldn't take many cause the situation itself is going to produce most of the problem. A few agitators along the way &............ well, you know.Blue jeans, Aamcotrans, cke and 7 others Thank this. -
The FHWA has been trying to get the FMCSA to require speed limiters for years. Between them, the ATA and the safety nazis the Feds finally acted.
The whole comment period was just a show as we all know. The FMCSA had probably already written the final rule before even asking for comments.
The speeds that they mentioned were 60 mph, 62 mph, 65 mph and 68 mph. 68 ain't gonna happen. The ATA wants 65 and the safety groups and Teamsters want 60. Since the ATA spends the most of lobbying they will get their wish.
The outcry from the general motoring public will be because the now slower trucks are taking even longer to pass than now and are slowing them down too much.
Probably be the summer of 2024 before it starts but maybe sooner.Blue jeans, snowman1980, cke and 6 others Thank this.
