Mine is paid off and I backed out of a deal to buy a new one. I'll probably be able to sell my trailer for what I paid two years ago.

My plan is to run this truck until the motor goes.

Watch me drive 50 mph everywhere I go. I already cut my speed to 60 mph when the fuel went up.

Passing another truck, or RV that is in vacation mode, on a two lane is what is going to get dangerous. I don't care what the speed limit is if I'm passing, I give it all I have until I get around them. If you run across someone doing say 62, and you are limited at 65, it is going to be hard to find a place to get by.

I'll say it again. It's my truck and I'll run it they way I want. I will keep going until they cancel my authority and put me out of business. I will not comply.

I cant wait for it, I never had a fast truck anyway. So, I'll make sure be the slowest truck out there, just to watch the chaos unfold.

    Specifically, no.

It got caught up in the "no new regulations " executive order, but it was not stopped by intent. Even so, it could have been advanced but there was no head of fmcsa from 2017 to 2018, then again from 2019 to 2022. It's hard for any entity to do anything when it's head has (acting) after its title.

If the Trump administration had cared about this topic at all, there were many things they could have done to eliminate it.

There could probably be lawsuits brought on by fleets that geared trucks to go say 68 at optimum efficiency. If they set the speed at 60, those trucks may have to run in lower gear, but higher rpm, costing them fuel mileage.

The fmcsa needs to have its wings clipped like the epa. And all such laws need to be passed by a vote in Congress. Still may happen, but at least we would stand a chance fighting it.

Seriously, the problem with this is going to be the "groups" or "packs" of trucks that gather up in the roadway due to various weights on various trucks, hills & valleys on ALL roadways, no matter where in the country. The worst is going to be in the mountainous areas & around Alabama & Georgia on I-20 etc... those type situations. Trucks will eventually end up in packs because of this. The lead truck, which obviously is going to be the slowest truck, is going to cause the back ups. This will cause every truck behind number 1 to become slower & slower. The more trucks that get into the pack, the slower the rear truck is going to go.

Eventually, the traffic is going to be down in the 50's (mph) & somebody is going to try to pass. Then another. Then another. Now, both lanes are going to become clogged. At some point, you'll end up having another slow, heavy, lead truck in the hammer lane. Now both lanes are going to back up with nowhere to pass.

Even if its a 4 or 6 lane hwy in both directions, its eventually going to get clogged up because..... somebody is going to become agitated and attempt to pass the 55 mph lane that's backed up. Eventually, the lead truck is going to become the slowest truck, again causing that lane to back up.

Eventually, all lanes are going to stop due to the backup in all lanes.

Within 24 hrs, your going to see & so will Buttigieg.

As my previous post stated... this is a problem in itself...... a few agitators will cause a back up from coast to coast within a very few hours.

Gonna be pretty easy to spot the 70mph guy in a 55 crowd. Not easy to hide a 80k vehicle you know. We ain’t all Copperfield you know.

Don't forget the backroads will become oversaturated and probably have more wrecks on the side roads.
