Probably. I'm definitely letting their office know tomorrow, cause I heard somewhere that if you stall during your DMV test it's an automatic fail. So I'm in a lot of trouble if I don't get this fixed soon.

During the test. Start off in 1st. Plain and simple as that.

During training. STart off in 1st. Plain and simple as that. And give him a few F bombs. Maybe even a finger salute.

    Why 4th is beyond me.

I don't think I've read anyone on this forum with your complaint.

You're learning to drive a truck. Shifting through all the gears is part of the learning process.

Start in 1st. Learn to shift. And learn to drive. Otherwise. Ask for a refund and find another school.

I'm pretty close to asking for a refund. I'm just going to try my last resort at reasoning with the ppl in the office and see if they can put me with a different trainer.

Start off from lights in 1st or 2nd. If the trainer goes off, then you just tell him that since yer driving, yer the captain of this friggin ship, so pipe down before you keel haul him.

Did school you going have only 1 trainer??? I am pretty sure no, so just go to whoever in charge and tell them to give you another trainer.
And 2nd why in the bloody world your trainer sending you on a street , ok you can't start on 4th gear, they just drive around your training yard untill you manage to drive off in 4th...
What name of crap school you went anyway?

PS, and if you trainer is not full of B's about he's 30 year experience , he know well that in real world there is no way you can start in4th gear fully loaded, so you have learn how to start from 3rd or 2nd gear anyway

You need to have a meeting with that "school" director because that's not working for you. You are paying the bill for that "teaching". If you're not learning correctly then find a better one.

TGA Trucking School out in California. As far it seems he is the only trainer that takes students out on the road. Every other trainer stays in the yard teaching backing skills. But I will definitely have a word with the administrator of the school tomorrow. This isn't going to fly if I'm just a verbal punching bag for this trainer instead of actually learning how to operate the truck correctly. And like I said before I'm not sure why they forcing me to start from 4th gear. It's beyond me.

Sorry you are having problems with a idiot instructor. I usually take off in 3rd when empty. sometimes 2nd. never 4th. Definetly talk to someone about it.

Your trainer must have taught at Swift academy because that’s the way it was taught to me. If the truck rocks back and forth, then you are letting your clutch go too quick. Try to let clutch out more slowly at the top. I’ve tried and 4th gear seems to be the sweet spot to start. New drivers seems to rev up that 3rd gear too high and you might not able to put in 4th gear and fail the test.

Also the road trainers are rude because they want to make sure you can drive under pressure. Don’t take it personal.
