I believe that terminal is ok. I know the shop was pretty good when I did get my truck serviced there. Try to be patient and when you meet your DM express your interest on where you want to run, how hard you want to run, home time. Start your relationship off on a good foot. Good luck to DessMan!
DessMan Thanks this. -
Thanks Man.. I'm Trying My Best Not To Let All These Horror Stories Get To Me.. It Can't Be Any Worse Than Western Express Or Werner.. Those Were Some War Stories Within Themselves..

It's a $45k a year job if you push hard. In 47 full weeks, I ran 127,905 hub miles and got paid for 119,082. 93% paid. Averaged 2533 paid miles per week. 226 trips in 288 on-duty days. I averaged 18 days out per trip(My choice). My average paid trip length was 526 miles. The company average is about 450. They'll tell you straight up that they are a short to medium haul carrier. If you are passive you'll run company average, gotta fight for a better average and back it up with performance. Equipment is pretty good but there is not enough trailers. Drop and Hook is often Drop and Hunt. Too many loads get T-called from too much time on loads. If you can get them to waive the per diem, you might gross closer to $50k as a top performer. My disappointment was the system is set-up for mediocrity. I am not knocking them, you can make alot less out here with many companies. I just don't see them as a long-term place to be.

One other thing, they got some 70 mph trucks running out of Carlisle. Got dusted by 'em several times.

Are knight doubles only for a special account? I told my DM that I'm interested in doing doubles, but have no experience with them. So far, this company has really turned out to be positive for me. Pay is great(ex-Werner driver speaking), the loads are good - I just did 2 loads that were less than 300 loaded miles, on top off 2400 miles for the week, and the choices! It's freedom here at knight. All the time my DM and I talk, and he's always asking what customer and what direction of travel do I want to go. It's great.drozzer69 Thanks this. -
Yes the doubles are a dedicated Macy's account out of Houston. I didn't have much experience with them either but spotting at Macy's helped me with that plus talking with other doubles drivers on the account. I am glad things are going good for you! Nice to see positive feed back for a change.
Also about the 70 mph Carlisle trucks, that's a new one to me. They must not be programmed yet or it was a downhill push!Last edited: Feb 20, 2013
