Hitch your wagon to his horse then, if he netted that with a single truck and trailer, you'll be rollin' in the dough in no time ;-)

What is that number? I hope it isn't gross money for a year.
I'm not trying to be a brat here, but if it is thats average $2,116 a week which is terrible money for an O/O.

Don't own a truck until you have worked as a company truck driver. You don't even know right now if you want to do the job of an OTR truck driver. Why volunteer to pay all of the bills of operating a truck before you have tried spending all day driving a truck? I understand the psychology of making a big bet so you know you HAVE to make this plan work. I don't think that's a very reasonable strategy.

If you look hard and do the right things you can find a company driver job making $100k and have great benefits. I would compare $100k in your bank account and someone else paying the expenses to you getting $300k in revenue and paying taxes, paying fuel, paying insurance, paying repairs, chasing down customer payments, etc and keeping $150k. O/O is a lot more work and while you can theoretically take a day off whenever you want, every waking moment is likely spent thinking and planning something about the truck.

I admit I've never owned/operated a truck and only been a company driver. I only drive a truck to get a paycheck. I would drive half as much if I could and pay my bills. You may have different goals. That's what makes the world go round.

Thanks, now that's some of the best advice I've heard so far. Which companies pay 90k-100k and how many years of experience? I Heard Wal-Mart is good pay, but you work like a dog, same for Frito Lay.
