Considering your goals and where you are now here's how I'd rank some choices for you.
1) GTI - good training program, decent hometime, realtively high staring cpm with decent miles.
1) Watkins/Shepard. Tied for first with GTI same conditions but only a 10 day in house training. So your a working trucker almost from the get go. Check their thread on here.
2) Schnieder - decent pay, short training (5-12 days), ok hometime and miles
3) May - Training based on ability rather than time or miles. Lower pay and some complaints about miles
4) Swift - lots of complaints but lots of supporters too (just heard that they were only hiring Hazmat teams out of Fontana so that may be a no-go for you anyway.
5) Central Refrigerated. Pretty much a bottom feeder in the truest sense of the word but- you'll get some really good experience if you can stick it out.
4) Tied - Werner or Stevens - they is what they is - a place to start when all else fails.
Stay away from leases for at least a year. You need to have some knowledge of the business before you make that commitment. To great a risk for a newbie.
hope this helped.
BTW - "Oldnu" is Oldnewbiegonnabe - the most well informed curious newb ever on the forums. Look up some of his posts. You may never have any more questions. Also he did A LOT of polls.
