At the risk of sounding like a ####### let me just say that asking these types of questions show that you're no where near ready to start a business and that you have no idea what you're doing or getting yourself into.

Having "capital" and using the words "DOT" doesn't make you a professional who's ready to start a business. I suggest you learn the industry before you start trying to own a piece of it.

Do you have a business plan?
Where are you getting your freight?
Are you using load boards? Do you know what a load board is?
What lanes will you be running?
    Are you ELD compliant?
Why do you need an office for two people, especially if one of those might be driving?
    Do you have insurance?
Do you have money set aside of operating expenses, salaries, taxes, etc

The list goes on and on.

Everyone wants a shiny new truck and a piece of the pie, but you're not ready.

I'm noticing that to be a owner in this business its like you gotta truly love this ####. To run truck(s) seems be a real pain in the rear a most of the time you're in business. Its always something ... I wont even begin to list examples of potential hurdles & obstacles I'd be here for months

I love threads like this. 4 pages of useless information except for a few good hearted folks. Unfortunately I don't have any good info to add either. Trucking is a tough dog eat dog business to be in. I know you may not like reading this kind of stuff, but don't expect it to get any easier for a while.

Used to be I thought if someone worked hard and used common sense it would work, but i've seen too many of my friends who have worked insane hours in pre eld trucks to make a go of it and they are telling me it barely works. I have no idea how a modern day owner operator running all this new expensive emission junk and sleeping most of the day away because he's out of hours can survive. My hats off to those guys because I run some crazy hours too and definately isn't like I'm so wealthy.

I used to tease recievers when the Apple Girl Hollars Wars dem applys!? at 7:02 sharp in Atlanta West.

I tell her it takes 7 years for washington state to grow this good load of apples and she can #### well wait a minute. (While handing her papers with a smile and coffee plus doughnut for her)

I would hate to see whats coming after the yesterday's warning from Cass Index showing current utilization of trucking down by 12% in face of a absolute halt in all china production, everything from cars to medicines stopped for a while maybe more than a month.
