I liked driving through at night heading to S. St Paul from ND If I wasn't placarded. Just a change of scenery. But I'm always placarded headed back west, and it's in the morning anyway.

I run into the cities everyday from Eau Claire,WI. Yes it is best to avoid downtown. Its hard enough to drive down there in the "spagetti bowl"

Cops seem to spend plenty of time there dealing with the most recent accidents. Engineers were on glue when they planned that curve.

Are trucks normally banned from this thing, or is that just for the duration of the project?

Just for the duration, they added hanging lights, narrowed up the lanes and tightened the curve and removed a lane in each direction for the short term. Normally its 3 lanes in each direction, 45mph curve, just hazmat restricted
