Well, the original oil field job didn't pan out so now I'm going to work for another carrier for 6 months until I can go offshore. Will be working with my uncle and cousin when it happens. So for now I'm in Springdale staring with the meat people tomorrow. Will start a thread and keep it updated.

Headed to the truck tomorrow, picking a load here at home. Headed to Missouri, crossing my fingers that Wyoming is feeling like sun and 25 mph wind or less. lol. Cant wait to get rolling. How are the miles, getting any better in February?

Lots of time between loads so far.

This is the start of winter in wy. Ends around June.

Sitting at sysco fremont CA waiting on my door. 50 degrees and light drizzle.

The snowiest months are march and april for WY. Winter has just begun.

4 hours here at sysco, and now I am late for my second drop which is only 3 miles away. And mandatory lunch is at 11:30. Got to enjoy union shops, no hustle.

This is one of those days when I hate my job. After 5 hours sysco claims they are short 20 cases of ground chuck, and and don't want the 20 cases of sirloin butts which are not even theirs. The butts belong to my next stop. So those are put back on the truck and I attempt to recount the load but sysco has put some of it away. 2 hours later with OS&D, and I can finally leave sysco to go no where. 2 drop stopped receiving at 3pm.

But stevens keeps saying to go and make delivery. What part of they are closed to the desk jockies in dallas not understand. The second drop has been very pleasant and understanding each time I called them. They are expecting me first in the morning at 7am. But stevens does not understand.

Now the final which was scheduled for 2pm is another story. Automatic phone system but I finally reached a human, then the warehouse super and explained to her what was happening and asked what time I could deliver tommorrow. Even though she needs the product, she could not schedule a dock time, I had to leave a message with the guy who does that.

And stevens is of no help.

So tonight will be spent parked on the street with cars and trucks whizzing by.

Did I say I hate my job? Today I do.

Oh and that all important seal record is a joke. Talked directly with tyson and explained to her that no they refuse to sign or reseal.

Sysco is an absolute joke. If I was running things, I would tell them to go pound sand. More times than I can count, I have been one of the 1st trucks at the dock, and the absolute last one to leave (I'm talking over 8 hours to unload 4 pallets.) Then they don't understand and get pissed when I tell them that I can't leave because I'm out of hours. They are rude, disorganized, and could care less about Steven's, their drivers, or any of the other receivers down line.

I don't hate my job, but I certainly hate 80% of the shippers/receivers that I have to deal with, and these wholesale food distributors (Sysco, MBM, McLane) are the worst offenders of them all.

Lets just add that OS&D also needs to be professional, and not treat the driver as an idiot. There is only so much we can do out here, and their rules on the joke of a seal record change every time. I can follow their rules, and still get told I did not do something, like call tyson, although it was during normal business hours.

Last 2 drops went smooth, except for Don's attitude in OS&D, and neither place will sign for a seal... started another long discussion with him.

oh well, next time on the yard I get to go to the OS&D class. Because I did not call tyson about the receivers unwillingness to sign for seals, or the reseal... I hate rules made by desk jockies, that do not have a single idea what the real world is like.

And the attitude of, the driver is lying.
