Its not about civil rights its about a load having to be some place and the company not giving a flying f about you.. Back on 1986 my cousin worked for this group his first son was on the way he told them 8 months ahead of time when he was due to be born and he would need to be home 1 week before and 1 week after to be safe. He went out for 2 4 month "tours" ran 95000 miles in those 8 months.. 2 weeks before his son was born he asked if they remembered he needed to be home that next weekend.. They said "yes its all right here" they told him to go from Albany Ny to Hollister Ca deliver and they would have a load going through Texas he could relay. He got to Ca the only thing they had was a load of Garlic going to Salt Lake, but once again we still have time run this load and we will get you on through Dallas. Got to SLC delivered, he had already filled up on fuel at this point. Dispatch told him man we don't have anything coming to Dallas but go to Rock Springs we have a truck broke down with a load going to Virginia, he went and picked the load up fueled up in Laramie hit 287 and rolled to Dallas.. They told him to get his ### to Virginia or get his #### out of their truck.. He did just that.. To this day they call him trying to get him to come back.. So yeah they don't care about your life. Move on .

Btw he made it home the day after he was born..

What a bunch of crap. Stevens does not push you to quit. They do push you to drive legal, deliver on time safely and take pride in your work.
I've been with them three years and have never had them push me to quit. But I follow rules, don't try and play games pick up and deliver on time and take care of equipment.
And yes, they pay me decently. Not great, not bad, but decently.
