Longer wheelbase on any vehicle always rides better. Well worth any minor inconveniences. I’d like a 300”. 325? Not for what I do. Best splice I saw was on a Pete. Spliced center of the rear spring hangers. Putting the front hangers in place of the rears. No reinforcement/sleeves, butt welded. The Guy was good.

I broke the frame on my 02 Chevy 1 ton way back in a similiar position. A buddy was a pro welder and had a big brake in his shop. I dropped it off thinking he would make a small glove. He butt welded it. Called me like 3 hours after I dropped it off.

He said it would hold. I put a flatbed on it and hauled my big 4 horse trailer all over the west for 6 years. No trouble

Can’t help getting older. Can’t help where I was born. I am from the East. The stretches were common in the West.

Are you one of those effeminate easily triggered thin skin people? That too is a choice.

My view is who the hell cares? If they have the money, the routes and enjoy it and it aint hurting anyone. Then why is it my business? Besides id feel safter next to a streched "show truck" then one of those CDL factory cookie cutter clone mega trucks. Truck is likely well maintained and the driver likely gives a flying rats ### about where his rig IS on the road if for no other reason then he doesnt want my trucks shade of paint all over his and is less likely to pull an amazon on me. I mean compare those streched rigs to the falling apart chicago specials. Which do YOU think is safer?

Besides what kind of rage fuled busybody ninny sits there and hates on something with zero effect to them, anyone around them or anyone in general when that thing clearly makes someone else happy?

What does "pull an Amazon on me" mean to you?

Is this a bonehead move exclusive to Amazon drivers or do we all it out on the road and on Bonehead Truckers videos?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Nope amazon driver bounced his truck off mine in a hit and run. Did about 25K in damage all told. Broke a huge amount of crap and cost me almost 3 weeks of wages besides.

edit: So when i say pull an amazon thats what i mean there. Guy in a streched rig is a lot less likely to need to go get his ### arrested on felony hit and run in a construction zone.
