If someone told me a delivery was gonna be delayed by 8 days, I’d just take that freight right back to where it came from .

I've also used the "just show up" technique. And then there's also the "double whammy" maneuver, where you call and also show up. Often they won't have enough info on who called to know that you're the same person when you show up, so the guy at the guard shack might yield better results than whoever answers the phone, or vice versa.

There you go. That's the way to do it. Think like a boss, ask to talk to the boss! You are their equal, after all.

I'd be leary of letting anyone pull my trailer and especially so leaving that to Swift. On the flip side of that some of the fresh meat loads that I haul it is in the contract if I break down the broker reserves the right to get the load re-powered. Lining it out would basically be not getting the load so I don't but I trust my unit.

I think that it is not as simple as it might seem with Swift repowering. Insurance is the primary reason. For instance, I don't have trailer interchange. But I'd get it in case of emergency...
Somehow, it seems to me that the mega brokerages and their regular fleets don't nessecarly like to commingle.

I’ve had drivers break down and had to do this a couple times, but I also have done a bunch of distressed loads for brokers.
