Stuck bolt on cab shocks. Will I have to cut them?

Can you put the nut back on a few threads and whack it with the hammer to try and drive the bolt out? A picture would be much helpful in this case.

Shops usually use a torch, cut the shock off the bolt, then cut the bolt off, once shocks out of the way. The bolts rusted to the steel bushing in the shock. Maybe you can cut the shock out of the way, then cut the bolt, twice if you have to if the steel bushing won’t budge, Might be able to grind the bushing off.

I would agree with this. You'll have to cut it out somehow, avoiding the bracket of course. Battery powered side grinders are awesome for jobs like this. I carry this one in my Ryobi bag of tricks. Sold at Home Depot.

To replace, take one of the other bolts you didn't cut up to a hardware store, and buy one just like it. Don't worry about the sleeve that's spinning around in your old one - the new shock will come with it already pressed in. In my area Ace Hardware or True Value stores have the best bolt selections, especially in stainless. Home Depot and Lowe's are usually picked over crap, and never have what I need, or if they do, they don't have enough of them.

I do have a electric one. I hope it don't come to this. I live a hour from even a mom and pop store.

I miss shopping my local Ace Hardware store since buying a stainless bolt assortment. His kids are probably going to have to drop out of UGA and attend a junior college somewhere, now that I'm not in there once or twice a week paying full retail for single bolts and whatnot.

Same here. But, years ago I came up with 3 baked in assumptions for every project I undertake. They are: 1. It will cost more than I think. 2. It will take longer than I think. 3. I will encounter at least one unforeseen problem I could not have predicted or planned for.
Using the 3 assumptions, right off the bat, actually helps alot. Because, when they do happen, as they always seem to, I was expecting it anyway and it's easier to roll with it instead of getting frustrated.
