It would be easier if you clarified which bad advice you considered truly bad?

The more powerfully instant the communications are becoming the worst manners are revealed rather quickly. I had a permit once for school only. Once school was finished 4 months worth of weekends, I got me a full bore class A.

If you do not have a truck, do not own a truck, don't have tags, registration, insurance, fuel and bingo stickers for that truck and on and on and on.. there is no reason to grasp and wring your hands to the bone getting that precious CDL. Hell I turned in my CDL back a few years ago when the laws changed again making it literally a Federal case should I get pulled over with scheduled two medicine inside or around myself.

Im just a wee car driver Officer. putt putt putt. Any time. 18 wheels and 50 ton? NO. PROBLEM. I shine that #### in my soul and head to be ready at a moments notice to drive the #### things. Before I talk about them.

If you really want to have fun and get to know me, let's tal;k about your favorite weapon and why?

From the DPS lady herself, I honestly believe she misspoke because that didn't make much sense to me. However I'm just as much at fault for not asking for clarification.

Thanks x1Heavy, I wasn't sure that you could do that with a CDL permit but it makes sense now. The DPS website didn't offer much clarity at all on this subject.

Ill turn this back in as soon as possible, and as soon as my "new new" license comes in ill go get my A permit and go straight to a community college or school like Millis.

    Thanks Again.

thank you but sorry Gunner, there is no way in Hell i'm going to wait til 2019 unless I have no other choice.

And I absolutely wanted to get my Class A, but the company doesn't.. Or didn't... deal with Combination Trucks, and I have absolutely no faith in these 'Rent today pass today' rental places, Automatic Trucks with backup cameras is basically cheating to me, and I cant get a straight answer as to if that would put an automatic restriction on my license if I were to go that route.

I will say again this is absolutely my fault for listening to those who gave me their "advice" as to what I should do. It seemed like a good idea at the time to stay local for experience.

You are welcome, I hope it works out for you. They have seriously increased requirements for ID and so forth for CDL's this year. Even myself Im a little intimidated by what is required now to get it where we are here in Arkansas. Even though Im out to pasture myself.

Let me give you some advice since you seem to be listening to people who have no clue.

Buy a set of golf clubs. Have you seen how much money those guys make?

You just couldn't resist being a smarta$$ to someone asking for help could you?
I love the people on here who post nothing of substance except for some half baked joke or remark.

If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, then why don't you just not say it at all. I staunchly don't believe you came out of the womb knowing everything there is to know about trucking... or life in general.

To the Op, don't worry, this kind of thing happens somewhat often. Turn your permit in as x1 said there shouldn't be any reason why they cant downgrade you.

you might have to wait a short period before you can retest, or at least until your class C comes in the mail.

Maybe we will run into each other at Millis? Ill be going there soon.
