So far no more issues with 730 . they should make better hold downs for the screen so it does not come loose if dropped or banged around due to bad roads. Mine probably came loose after hitting 54 into liberal is or Texas. Really bad

Actually one issue. Speed has been off by 1 to 2 mph

    Hold down for the screens?

Speed limits are by Lat/Long and are more accurate than you speedometer. Your speedometer is calibrated for virgin tires at factory. As the tread wears down your speedometer will be off to what you are actually going. If you can brand of tires also they are not the same specs as what factory installed.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Connected 720 to dock with 16gb class 10 sd card in the unit. Firmware update successful. Lengthy map update successful. Gps powered up but no maps. All functions work, just no maps on the screen.

I have the 720, it's never been updated, tried to install the dock software on a windows pc and an error came up that the device wasn't recognized.

I now have the latest Mac air, wouldn't detect the GPS unit on it either.

    Any suggestions?

Leave the 720 on and connected to the computer and reboot your computer. If this is a newer laptop within a few years they have gone to power sharing on the USB ports. Rebooting with it connected will force the port to redo the power.

If you look at the USB connector on the 720, do you see the 5 tips (gold) looking at you?

Are you using an RM USB Cord?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I see all the gold tips, when the gps is plugged into mac it powers up but isn't detected during install of the dock software. The USB cord is the original, would it be possible to get power to device but not detect it? I have attached the error message

Still nothing. Tried everything and it just won't show the maps on the screen. It also says the map and firmware update is available when I connect to the dock after just going through them.
