Sounds like you have gotten corrupted files. Have you done a D/R on it from the Dock?

    Thanks,
    Mark

It could be the USB connector, how long have you had it?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hey Mark
Any word on the fix for the auto-dim feature, Wife's unit is experiencing this problem.

    Thanks
    John

Mark, I have the 720 and the last several months it's been giving me problems. I'm not sure if it's been addressed in here or not. If so, point me to the post. My problems are twofold.
    1. When calculating a route, the unit will automatically reboot. Not every time, but a lot. Then, when it's fully rebooted, the screen is darker, almost like night mode, but it was in day mode previously. If I manually turn it off/on, then it goes back to day mode.
    2. When planning a trip, I input all my stops, including truck stops etc. So, running coast to coast I will have 25 legs, for example. After getting everything inputted, I save the trip, then hit "start trip". Once it calculates my trip, I will go to the menu to look at the distance between each leg, and the last 6 to 10 legs will be missing. When I go back to my saved trip, all my legs are there. So I again start my trip, but the end legs are always missing. It doesn't matter how many times I do this. Sometimes it's 6 legs, other times 12, then again maybe only 2 or 3. Any ideas on this? Thanks.
P.S. I keep my unit updated. The last update I did was last week.

It has been reported. I know it is annoying, but if you keep bugging RM CS about it, then maybe RM QA will push out a quick fix.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Because you are from OR, I will respond....LOL

PM me your E-Mail address as I want to get some files off of your 720.

Make sure you do a D/R on your unit from the Dock.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Be sure to do the D/R on your unit from the Dock after you update to v 3790. I have seen some corrupted files in the RM/Data folder from the prior version crashing while the DB's were open. Any corrupt DB will affect the unit in its performance.

If you wish a fresh download I can tell you what you have to delete that is stored on your computer. The Dock pushes first to your computer and then the Dock will push the files from the computer to your unit.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I'm fueling now, but I'll be done for the day in a couple hours. I did an update and then a D/R last night, but it didn't help.

Those that are seeing the issue of the unit not switching correctly from day/night or night/day, do you see this on the 520/720 units?

    Thanks,
    Mark
