Ok I get that but still would like to know if the latest RM road atlas has more up to date maps than the gps units.

I don't know. They are two different databases, not compatible.

    Thanks,
    Mark

a road atlas will not contain the same information of any gps.. its too much.. walmart still sells detailed street maps per city town ect if that's what you're after..

Thank you. That's the answer I was looking for. This would prob apply to other maps also and we can only hope that the new map set will catch up.

:violent1: Sorry for the prior post. I misunderstood what was E-Mailed to me. The last update were data files only. The next set of maps for the 510/710/520/720 that are on LTM's will be in Jan 2015 and you will be required to run an external Micro SD Card (min 8gb, suggested class 10).

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I figure since we now know we will need a MicroSD card for the new maps for the older models. Amazon has a sale today on Samsung and SanDisk microsd cards, and they are great prices. Many are larger capacities than what the maps will need, BUT maybe you have a smaller one in your phone, and you can buy a larger one and replace your phone into your GPS in january.

    Samsung cards:

    SanDisk cards:

The 8gb sandisk is 9.49 currently, not quite as good a discount as the higher memory ones, but still a reasonable price. I personally have always used SanDisk ones, and never once had an issue.

If those links don't work because of whatever amazon uses for links, here is an android police writeup with links to both.
