    To Mark,
I have a 720 that shows LTM=Yes, but I don't have the 2nd button from the left showing "update maps".
    My serial number is: 720-026029-EL-12W35 V 2 2

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood:biggrin_25511:. I thought not having the update maps button and the update due in January was two different issues. Thanks

No problem, the threads long, and a little hard to follow. You'll also need a class 10 card when the map updates do come out to place into the 720.

Yes just make sure the adapter is min 2 amp some are just 1 amp and is not enough power. Better yet get small dc to ac converter to plug into cig lighter socket and use a/c cord which should have a built in spike suppressor .

    kwswan Thanks this.

As stated, this subject has been discussed at length. If needing to vent, then please open a new thread as this is a support thread. RM releasing the new maps is out of my control as a support item.

    Thanks,
    mark

Sounds like the battery, but if you are using the same charger from the 510 for the 720, the charging amps are not the same. 5" = 1amp, 7" = 2amps. So if trying to charge on the lower amperage it will take longer.

I suggest keep the 720 on without power and let the battery die down, then plug into a charging outlet and let it charge back up without the 720 being on.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Yes, but what model do you have? RM usually does not send out updater cards for updates.

    Thanks,
    mark
