But that does not answer my question that his statement was a response to.

Mine started blowing fuses on the main fuse box on the truck. Spent money thinking it was the 12v point in the truck. Replaced the 12v point on the truck and still blowing fuses. Low and behold took a look at the power point for the GPS and low and behold it was melted internally. Pieces fell out just trying to look at the fuse. Rand Mcnally says don't use any other power cords. So do I go without GPS for however long it takes to get a replacement or do I get a different GPS?

I had that happen with my TND-500.The fuse was touching the ground strips inside the gps plug. I put electrical tape around the metal end of the fuse and have not had any more blown fuses in the truck.

Well went to RM website and showing cord on B/O. So much for the near future of using $400.00 GPS. Can't even find where to warrant this as mine is only 4 months old.

    Warranty service number: 877-446-4863.

By the way, is that a 710 or 720 that this happened?

Hey. Just picked up a new Rand McNally 520. Having issues with the screen. Sometimes pushing the screen has no effect, and sometimes the screen just moves and clicks by itself. I've sat there and watched the map move endlessly until I touched it to make it stop.

I've tried resetting, I've tried cleaning the screen. I tried doing the calibration in the settings (which oddly enough never finished...it just endlessly looped the crosshair around the screen when I pressed it. Had to reset the device just to get out of the calibration).

Wondering if there's something else I can do or if I need to call up Rand McNally and send it back.

I just bought a 520...seems to be working OK so far but I won't be travelling with it until Monday.

My question is about the "Traffic Everywhere" (I want this...its the only reason I bought a new GPS)...it says you can get it on the dock but I don't see it...anybody know whats up with that?

My husband is new to trucking and his GPS. He has a Rand McNally 510. This is his problem:
The system was charging with the USB cord. The red charging light went off. The screen blacked out. The red charging light came back on. Left off and allowed to charge for 2 hours. The red and green lights started flashing, alternating red and green. The GPS will not turn back on. This system was purchased new in November 2012.

Thanks for any help we can get!

RMCS told me end of this month or June. Maybe Mark can get or has more up to date information on this but I suspect RM might be holding off till they release the software update that will bring the 720 version current with the 520.

Have to give Mark the opportunity to recover from his vacation.
