    I have a used turbo off my 12.7 S60.

Friend has an 11.1 S60 farm truck with a blown turbo.

    Both are Garret.

Can he use it - ? My mechanic thinks it spins faster with more pressure and would risk engine damage.

Won't see why it wouldn't work. If anything the A/R on the 12.7 might be a tad larger giving a tad more lag and less drive pressure

Dave’s Turbo is a good source. I found the specs, courtesy Jegs. Obviously the smaller ones for the 11.1

    Part# for 12.7- 171702. 11.1- 169012. Pretty sure that’s right.

Those #s might be for non wastegated turbos. I think wastegated ends in 1. Either way make sure, depending on what he wants.

I replaced my 12.7 with a Borg Warner and it was a 171702.

Buddies truck is a ‘92 White/Volvo with the 11.1 in it. He loads the poor thing to 100k gross with beans and grain and hauls 5 miles to town.

He’s keen on saving a buck, mechanic is nervous about the idea.

If it were me, obviously - new correct turbo and go on. He, well - farmers, you know.

If thats the case. Yes yours will work. Its going to preform poorly compaired to what came off. Highly doubt it will lead to a over boost situation.

I can dig out my books when I get home.
