They have automatic and manual. Pay very close attention in orientation. Make sure you know what's expected by your trainer and most importantly yourself. Your time with your trainer is very crucial to your first year and will ultimately determine if you can go to ups or any high paying local trucking job if you choose. If you chose their school remember your going to pay for it one way or another. Get the most out of the training and be patient as possible it is very well worth it in the long run. Training pay will be between 300-500 a week depending on how you run. But some accounts you can get 500-700 depending on what your mentor is running.
Swift automatic or manual transmissions?

I kid I kid , for all the bad rap Swift gets , and every bad story you see , there is a good story you don't see. Several people , good drivers each, that I know started at swift .....hopefully your mentor and you mesh, and if so , listen to everything they say, and if you don't mesh, do your damnest to make it work on your behalf , and if you can't , ask for a new trainer -

Spoiler alert: the road test will be manual. If you can't drive it, they send you to their school. If you already have a cdl, you only need to pass their tests at school and not at the DMV.
Once you complete their school you don't take a road test at orientation again. Training pay is 9.50 per hour while driving or your state minimum wage, whichever is higher... and your state minimum wage for all other on duty activities. You'll do 200 hours driving with a trainer and that can last from 3 weeks to 8 weeks depending on you and your trainer. There are good and bad trainers. My advice is ask every stupid question you can and make them earn their money. They make far more money than they deserve. -

Does anyone know if Swift has trucks with Adaptive Cruise Control? Is that a common thing these days? I've been out of trucking for a while so I'm not up to speed on the latest equipment.
