From travel.state.gov: As of ( Monday August 15, 2011 ), we are processing routine applications in approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application. As of (Monday August 15, 2011 ), we are processing requests for expedited service in about 2-3 weeks door-to-door, when overnight delivery is requested and paid for both ways (to and from the passport agency).
I listened to a Swift recruiter two weeks ago who was asked that question. She said while it depends on all kinds of things, 6-9 months is a good guess. She said that way, you won't be disappointed and might be pleasantly surprised. Like Injun alluded, dedicated routes are VERY desirable at Swift and the company sees a great future in them--they're predictable and in the long run, less expensive for Swift.
I am happy to help out where I can! I just switched to Sears dedicated recently. I like it! I don't have to run 500 miles per day, yet I still make decent $$ due to pay for multiple stops. It also seems like I am planned out better now than I have been in the past.
Does any one run dedicted from the virginia beach area or close by? If yes which account and how is it (miles, fsc, work days, etc) I'm not interested in dollar tree nor dollar general.
Can anyone tell me more about Swift's dedicated account with Target I believe in Columbus Ohio? How far out do they hire and do you have to have time with Swift or do they hire from the outside? I have 7 years of driving experience.
I know I see lots of Swifties going east and west on I-96 outside my office window every week. And most of them pull a Walmart trailer.
Good morning all, I read the posts and wanted to say going dedicated has worked out as a small miracle for me. I am home on the weekends, I get a flat rate (which seems to be more than my .35cpm), and my DM is GREAT!!! There is no unloading, minimum miles and a chance to have a normal life. All this while working at the "worst place in the industry" according to others. LOL. I have been with Swift since April of 2011, thanks to posts from ppl like Injun and have had my frustrating times and times of pure bliss. These days there is alot more bliss than when I was a newbie.
