Swift does DriverFacts, not DAC. The unpaid debt will not be on a DriverFacts report, but his three preventable accidents will. It will also show drug tests, employment dates, and whether he is eligible for rehire. The debt might be on his credit report, but I've never had a trucking company pull mine so I wouldn't worry about that. What the OP does need to worry about are those three accidents in an eight month period followed by a termination. That's gonna stand out and it doesn't look very good.

You're the exception, as a rule you don't get better but stay the same or get worse with time.

Your mentor set a bad precedent for you by getting bent out of shape when the Werner driver insisted on reporting the incident. The fact is, you did make contact with his trailer, and what you consider to be minor may be irrelevant to the situation.
Sometimes "following the book" is overkill, sometimes it's not. It depends in the company you work for, in a lot of ways, and it depends on common sense and practicality, which can both be subjective at times, objective at others. Your mentor should have understood that, and since in fact there was contact, with damage, minor or not, the other driver may not have the choice to not report it. It's your responsibility to cover your rear, but it's also the other guy's responsibility to cover his.
